Paul Edelstein explains a little known concept called Dram Shop Laws and why all bars and restaurants should know what this means.
Edelstein, one of New York State’s leading personal injury attorneys, has become a strong advocate for understanding your personal responsibilities whether you are the one serving the alcohol or the one drinking with a friend who is more intoxicated than you.
In 2015, Edelstein helped a woman get compensation after she was severely injured by a drunk driver who had ben drinking at Martell’s Tiki Bar (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ). He used the Dram Shop Law as part of his argument to show that Martell’s had responsibility for among other things, the alcohol it served.
